Most carboxylic acids dissolve in aqueous solutions of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) because they are more polar after they react to form carboxylate salts. Write curved arrows showing the reaction between a generic carboxylic acid and sodium bicarbonate to form a carboxylate salt and H2CO3. (Note that H2CO3 is unstable and decomposes to carbon dioxide and water.
