During an experiment water was heated in a container covered with a glass lid. The following observations were recorded. Observation 1: Water droplets form on the inside of the glass lid.
Observation 2: Bubbles rise as the water starts boiling.
Based on the observation, justify the type of change (physical or chemical) that took place.

It is a Physical change because the composition of the water was never changed in any of the processes.

A chemical change is said to have occurred when there is a change in the composition of a substance.

When water droplets form on the inside of the glass lid, the droplets are actually condensed water molecules.

The bubbles that rise are actually gaseous water molecules floating on the surface of the liquid  water.

In all cases, the composition of the substance remains the same. Hence, it is a physical change that took place.
