Prelaboratory Assignment: A 3.00 mL aliquot of 6.75 x 104 M Cu2+ was added to each flask in a series of 10, 25.00
mL volumetric flasks. A different volume of 5.10 x 10-4 M NaS2CN(C2H5)2 solution was
added to each flask and the flasks were filled to the mark with methanol. The
absorbances of the solutions were measured and plotted as a function of the volume of
the added ligand.
The plotted data contained three linear portions. The first and second lines intersected
at 3.80 ml, and the second and third lines intersected at 8.25 mL. Find the ratio of
ligand to metal at both intersections.
