In a chemistry assignment we used the ideal gas law (PV = nRT) as follows to find the volume of a glass container which doesn't change throughout the course of removing some gas from it: V = (βˆ†n)RT/(βˆ†p). How is this allowed algebraically? Is it always true that if A*B = C*D*E, then (βˆ†A)*B = (βˆ†C)*D*E?
