Let us know what a CSS is and what is the role of class in CSS. CSS – Cascading Style sheet helps the developer to develop a web page with rich set of colors and other visual appearance. A css feature can be used in single line or multiple styles can be combined as one single class and use it anywhere in the linked HTML / Web pages.

The use of class is that, many styles can be combined, eg. all the web pages header can have set of visuals appearance and footer can have different visual appearance. So, the programmer can design a separate styles by using class and call those styles wherever required in the web page.

CSS is known as cascading style sheet .CSS is a language use to design HTML page or documents. Generally, CSS is use to arrange or style HTML element like <p> paragraph tag</p>, <h1>header tag</h1>. It addresses font, color and position of HTML element on the web page.

Class in CSS is a selector that target individual or group of HTML element for styling. Example

lets create a simple HTML page and call it example.html :

Let us create CSS to style a specific HTML element using class. In this case the p tag is the target. I will call the css file class.css

The class (value) created will change the word I wrote in the <p></p> tag to blue color and font to italic.
