4.2 Code Practice: Question 2

The program is an illustration of loops.

Loops are used to perform repetitive operations.

The program in Python, where comments are used to explain each line is as follows:

#This initializes the count of pets to 0

petCount = 0

#This loop is repeated until the user enters "rock"

while True:

   #This gets the name of pet

   petName = input("What pet do you have? ")

   #If the input is rock

   if petName == "rock":

       #The loop is exited

       break

   #This increments the pet count by 1

   petCount+=1

   #This prints the pet name and the count of pets

   print("You have a",petName,"with a total of ",petCount,"pet(s)")

At the end of the program, the total number of pets are printed.
