The first reason why Carmen should stop texting and driving is because Laruen is feeling unsafe and uncomfortable. As a driver, you have the responsibility to not only be safe, but to make your passengers feel safe as well. Carmen could say that she is an experienced driver, but this is no excuse, because half a million people die in the U.S. per year from texting and driving. Most of these people would have considered themselves experienced drivers, because they would be too nervous to even attempt texting and driving if they were inexperienced. If Carmen still insists on continuing, Lauren could ask Carmen to pull over so that Lauren could get out of the car. You shouldn't even be friends with someone that puts their "friends" lives at risk for something as childish as looking at who liked a post.
