Why is fluency in information technology becoming increasingly important for many college majors?

Technology changes from time to time, thus, this is very important that one should cope its changes. Fluency in IT, becomes more increasingly important to many college majors---pieces of information needed are just one click away [in the internet]. Fluency in IT is a very important tool specially when college majors involve thesis writing. 

Iwould try the first option, first then if that didn't work i would try the last option.
