This term in context refers to the combination of more than two different technologies into a single device. Typically, it is the convergence of 4 industries (I.T, Consumer Electronics, Telecommunication, and entertainment) into one conglomerate. 

An example is how a cell phone is able to take pictures. This example is a combined functionality of a camera and a telephone
