Acircular rod is attached perpendicular to a plane wall. the rod is 0.5 cm in diameter and is 10 cm long. it is made of metal with a thermal conductivity k = 100 w/m-k. the temperature of the wall to which the rod is attached is 130 c. air at a temperature of 36 c is blown across the rod with a velocity of 40 m/s. find: (a) calculate the heat transfer coefficient for the rod assuming that it can be treated as a cylinder in crossflow. use air properties at 350 k. (b) calculate the rate of heat loss from the fin.
