Determine the terminal velocity of a spherical pebble inch in diameter falling in 75°f water. assume that specific gravity of the pebble is 2.94 and that the kinematic viscosity (hs/ pr) of the water equals 1 x 10 ft/s. note that you won't need to know fluid viscosity and density independently.
question 1: calculate the velocity in ft/s when it is assumed that the solution lies in the stokes region.
question 2: calculate the re with this velocity. do not use scientific notation for your answer does this fall in the stokes region? (no need to enter you answer it is no)
question 3: calculate the dimensionless quantity n
question 4: use the appropriate equation from professor subramanian's notes to calculate re. these equations are on page 2 here as well as posted in moodle question 5: calculate the particle velocity in ft/s.
