The aluminum rod (E1-75 GPa) is reinforced with the firmly bonded steel tube (E2 = 197 GPa). The diameter ofthe aluminum rod is d = 21 mm and the outside diameter of the steel tube is D = 42 mm. The length of the composite column is L-754 mm. % Matlab input: L = 754 ; d = 21; D = 42; E1 75 ; E2 = 197 ; P 99; A force P is applied at the top surface, distributed across both the rod and tube. Determine the normal stress ฯ in the aluminum rod when P = 99 kN.
