A pump at elevation 215.00 ft has a 4-inch diameter PVC discharge pipe 450 ft long and a 6-inch diameter steel suction pipe 400 ft long as the schematic shows below. Assume given pipe diameters are internal diameters. The suction pipe is connected to a tank with a water surface elevation of 240.00 ft under a pressure of 4 psi. The discharge line is connected to a tank with a water surface elevation of 145.00 ft under a pressure of 57 psi. The minimum acceptable flow is 475gallons per minute. The filter has a resistance coefficient of 20.0. The fluid is water. Neglect all other minor losses.

Required:
a. Determine the head on the pump for the minimum flow.
b. Develop a system curve and plot it on the selected pump curve. Determine the operating point for the pump. Mark it clearly on the pump curve. What is the performance of the pump at the operating point (capacity, efficiency, power, and net positive suction head required)?
c. Compute the NPSHA and compare to the NPSHR.
