Disk A has a mass of 8 kg and an initial angular velocity of 360 rpm clockwise; disk B has a mass of 3.5 kg and is initially at rest. The disks are brought together by applying a horizontal force of magnitude 20 N to the axle of disk A. Assume that μk = 0.15 between the disks. Neglect bearing friction.
Required:
Determine:
a. the angular acceleration of each disk.
b. the final angular velocity of each disk.

Air flows over a heated plate àt a velocity of 50m/s. the local skin factor coefficient at a point on a plate is 0.004. estimate the local heat transfer coefficient at this point.the following property data for air are given: density = 0.88kg/m3 , viscosity 2.286 x 10 ^-5 kgm/s , k = 0.035w/mk ,cp = 1.001kj/kgk. use colburn reynolds analogy.

Water vapor initially at 10 bar and 400 °c is contained within a piston-cylinder assembly. the water lost heat to the surrounding according to isochoric (iso-volumetric) process until its temperature is 150 °c. the water is then condensed isothermally to saturated liquid. for the water as a system, calculate the work in kj/kg
