A mixture of five (5) components are to be separated via four (4) unit operations. Below mention table shows the flow rate of each component, and the split ratio of the substances at each unit operation. a. Discuss your strategy to obtain the highest purity of substance A based on mass transfer and separation process principles.
b. Draw one (l) possible arrangements Of the separator to accomplish the objective in (a) in the form of a process now diagram
c. Estimate the purity of substance A in percentage (%)
d. If the final separator used to obtain the high purity substance A in (b) is a distillation column, estimate the minimum number of stages when the binary system is benzene- toluene.
e. If the final separator used to obtain the high purity substance A in (b) is a membrane column, determine the effects of varying the feed pressure on the mass flux of substance A across the membrane. Discuss your answer with relation to mass transfer principles. Take the permeability (g/m^2.min. atm) equals to the separation factor, and the pressure drop across the membrane to be only 2% of the feed pressure. Choose your own range of feed pressure.

Substance Flow rate (g/min) Separator 1 Separator 2 Separator 3 Separator 4
A 50 0.01 0.55 0.03 0.45
B 34 0.45 0.07 0.01 0.9
C 100 0.8 0.5 0.02 0.70
D 26 0.6 0.06 0.015 0.1
E 17 0.4 0.6 0.7 0.6
