Air flows smoothly onto a fixed vane and turns through an angle of 60°. The pressure across the vane is constant and the velocity at inlet is 150 m/s. The air leaves with a velocity 145 m/s. Determine the x and y components of the force (magnitude and direction) exerted on the vane if the volumetric flow rate is 0.5 m3/s (air density is 1.2 kg/m3 ).
