A pile has a diameter of 0.4 m and a length of 7 m. A field load test on this pile indicates an ultimate load capacity Q of 300 kN with 70% of the 300 kN load being carried by end-bearing and 30% of the 300 kN load being carried by skin friction. At the time of construction, 0.5 m diameter piles were used instead of 0.4 m diameter piles. Calculate the ultimate load capacity Q and the allowable load capacity Q for the 0.5 m diameter pile using a factor of safety of 2.5.
