The equilibrium data for the binary system methanol and water at 1.0 atmosphere is given below. We wish to do a flash distillation of 700 kg moles per hour of a feed that is 70 mole % water. The flash chamber is at 1.0 atmosphere and is adiabatic. We vaporize 2/5 of the feed in the flash chamber.
