Water enters the impeller of a centrifugal pumpradially at a rate of 40cfm (cubic feet per minute) when the shaft is rotating at 450 rpm. The tangential component of absolute velocity of water at the exit of the 2-ft outer diameter impeller is 110 ft/s. Determine the torque applied to the impeller and the minimum power input to the pump.
