For this problem, you will use Matlab to calculate the response of a locomotive and determining the maximum displacement. The locomotive has a mass of 2000 kg is is traveling at 10 m/s when it makes contact with a bumper. The bumper has a spring rate of 80 kN/m and a damping coefficient of 40 kNs/m. Write a Matlab script to calculate the natural frequency and damping ratio. Using these values, determine if the system is overdamped, underdamped or critically damped. Plot the response of the system using the appropriate response equation from the slides. Publish your Matlab script and upload it.
