A steam turbine is used to drive an air compressor while delivering a net power to an electric generator. Steam enters the turbine at 12 MPa and 480 oC at a rate of 25 kg/s and exits at 10 kPa. Air enters the compressor at 100 kPa and 300 K at a rate of 10 kg/s and exits at 1 MPa. The isentropic efficiencies of the turbine and the compressor are 90% and 85% respectively. Calculate: (a) the net power delivered to the electric generator, and (b) the rate of entropy generation during this process.
