The inside of the cylindrical tank with diameter D and height h is completely filled with liquid. The liquid in the tank is on the pipe with a diameter d. It is discharged with Q flow rate by opening the valve. (u =√¯2gβ„Ž)
a) 10 minutes after the tank started to be emptied, the engineer asked the worker how many minutes after the tank would be completely emptied. The worker replied to the engineer by saying "25% of the tank is emptied, after 30 minutes the tank will be completely emptied". Would you believe the worker, why?
b) Derive the expression that indicates the change of the liquid level in the tank over time if the 2Q flow rate is started to be fed to the tank inlet.
