distinctive red brick facades were retained, having been declared historic landmarks in the 1970s. The tanks, given their fantastic
acoustics, were the site of concerts while the city decided how best to redevelop them. Eventually, each gas tank was redeveloped by a
different design firm, and each includes spaces for several uses, including apartments, offices, and retail. All four are connected by a
system of skybridges. Additionally, the center of each remains open, providing additional windows and daylight for the interior spaces
