For fully developed laminar flow through a parallel-plate channel, with a constant (and negative) pressure gradient of dP/dx, the x-direction momentum equation has the form:
μ(d^2u/dy^2) = dp/dx = constant
Required:
a. Starting with this expression derive an expression for the laminar, fully developed flow profile uy) between a parallel plate channel where there is a distance A between the two plates.
b. What is the mean velocity in the channel?
