A four stroke Otto cycle engine has a real power output of 80 kW, a volumetric compression ratioof 8.6:1 and runs at 4500 rpm at a pressure of 0.85 bar, 340 K. The mechanical losses are foundto be 30 % for this engine. Determine the ideal cycle efficiency, the friction power absorbed, the realefficiency and the swept volume required. Calculate the end pressures and temperatures in thecycle and superimpose them on a P-V diagram. Take qin = 2800 kJ/kg as the calorific value of thefuel.
