This is a project to determine your water footprint. You are to estimate how much water you consume each year for taking showers and flushing toilets. Follow these steps to determine your shower and flushing water consumption. Obtain a container of a known volume, and then time how long it takes to fill the container when placed under shower head. Calculate the volumetric flow rate in gallons per minute. Then, measure the time that you spend on average when taking showers. Calculate the volume of the water consumed on daily basis. Multiply the daily value by 365 to get the yearly value. Look up the size of your toilet and estimate on average how many times per day you flush the toilet. Calculate the volume of water you consume on a daily basis. Multiply the daily volume by 365 to get the annual value. Submit your finding in a 2 min or less Flipgrid video. What is your daily Shower water usage? yearly? What is your daily toilet flushing usage? Yearly? According to the included video on daily water consumption, are you above or below the Canadian daily average? Discuss your annual consumption and ways to conserve.
