"Yesterday I went downtown to the fair." said Paul.
"I love downtown! It's such a beautiful area of the city." exclaimed Samantha.
Paul nodded his head in agreement.
"How did you get there though? It's such a long way from here." asked Samantha.
Paul began to explain his journey to downtown.
"Mhm... Oh... Yeah!" Samantha proclaimed in response.

1. Responding with statements related to the topic at hand. "I love downtown! It's such a beautiful area of the city."

2. Using body language. "Paul nodded his head in agreement."

3. Asking questions about the topic. "How did you get there though? It's such a long way from here."

Extra #4. Show the speaker you're listening with small responses, such as "Yes, Ah, Mhm, etc," "Mhm... Oh... Yeah!" Samantha proclaimed in response.
