in william shakespeare's play  much ado about nothing, claudio falls in love with hero, and asks his friend don pedro to approach her for him.don john, don pedro's bad brother, tries to convince claudio that don pedro actually intends to take the opportunity to woo hero for himself.how does this event  most likely  affect the play? as the rising action, it creates humor as claudio's asking don pedro to speak to hero for him is ridiculous. as the exposition, it creates mystery about whether don pedro is really a bad character. as the climax, it creates surprise, as hero does not know who claudio is. as the complicating incident, it creates tension about whether claudio and hero will get together as a couple.
