Pl i'll give brainliest if someone can rewrite so it won't show up on turnitin. com to begin, the number of mnemiopsis (knee-me-opsis) jellyfish blooms are ensuring no fisherman have fish, causing them to lose millions of in fact, these jellyfish can hatch some 40,000 eggs daily. these blooms eat the larvae and eggs of fish that fisherman, especially local ones of the black sea, depend on. resulting in lots of money lost. clearly, the problem is growing at an expeditious rate. meanwhile, the jellyfish swarms are having a major effect on fisheries, but the problem is also spreading to power plants. these plants are in japan, israel, and scotland. plankton ecologist steve hay states, "science data shows that over the past few years there has been an increase in swarms of jellyfish.” when the swarms congest the power plants, the people lose electricity which frustrates many citizens. with so many people affected, there needs to be some kind of solutions. today, there is an unlikely savior in the black sea. a different species of jellyfish called the bereo jellyfish found its way into the black sea. this species eats the mnemiopsis jellyfish. the bereo are creating a more balanced ecosystem in the oceans. although this has saved the black sea, scientists are wary about using the bereo in other seas. “we are thinking about using the bereo in other areas, but we are concerned. there is a real fear of negative ecological consequences from introducing new species.
