Parallel or parallelism, means using the same pattern of words to show that two or more words or ideas are of equal importance. Words and phrases should match in structure and tense. It is used to clarify writings and make them easier to understand. This can be used with different structures including infinitives, words, clauses and lists.  

In parallel structure, sentences have a series of phrases or clauses, which start and end in almost a similar fashion, by keeping the rhythm of the lines.
