This method carried out by animals saved human labour since men did not have to weed the land themselves or they did not have to set up fences or hedges. However, the animal method would not make land thieves disappear. Arable land might be fertile but to keep it safe  was not;  thieves would certainly steal it. This made arable land clouded and vague  because it was impossible to measure , to exploit ,and to keep arable land free from thieves.
