What are some books where the characters learn from their mistakes? i’m writing an essay but i can’t think of any.

One really good example that I can think of off the top of my head is the narrator Nick from The Great Gatsby. One would think that because he is the narrator he should be good right? But he is not. He gets sucked into the world of Gatsby and it does not turn out well for anyone in the novel. Although at the end of the novel, Nick realizes that he needs to get away from that world because of what he has seen. It would be an awesome example for your essay. Hope that helps you get started.
