Our people were being forced to move from our land land our ancestors had lived on for centuries. it was either that or assimilate into the culture that had taken over. none of us wanted to move. most of us didn't want to change. but i'll admit that i was interested in learning the new language and culture. the colonizers' clothing and their schools also intrigued me. which of these storylines most closely matches the external conflict of the passage?
