Albert is saying that many people wants their life to go fast so they spend much of their times in the mountains then examine nature and it’s beatuty.For example from “The Mountain Trail” it’s states that “He never hurried” another example is “ He stopped to get aquatinted with individual trees along he way”. This explains how he didn’t rush though life.
