The Libby prision was a tobacco warehouse used by The Confederates to keep the war prisoners. Elizabeth and her mother managed to volunteer as nurses. Prisioners who were ill or wounded were hospitalised in that prison . Elizabeth used that job to pass information to  the members of The Union. She mainly used books and food to do so.
