Amy worked every sunday—that was just the nature of the job. first, there was church and the sermon, and then afterwards she would visit sick people in the hospital. on tuesday mornings she led a prayer breakfast for the men’s group. on wednesday evenings, she led a bible study. when she was taking classes at theology school, there had been such an intellectual thrill that she never thought about how busy she would be on a day-to-day basis. her life now was an endless flow of baptisms and funerals, weddings and potluck suppers.
