"Cranes" occurred in Korea amid the Korean War. The two heroes are cherished companions, yet each grew up with various philosophies. The principle message of the story is that fellowship is more noteworthy than that of the philosophies and opportunity must be esteemed in imprisonment. Nguyen Thi Vinh, "Contemplations of Hanoi" time setting is amid the Vietnam war. In correlation with the "Cranes", the character in this ballad, picked more commitment than companionship.
