read the excerpt from the essay "summer: two weeks or two months? "
the final bell rings. it’s the last day of school, and summer has finally come! students don’t have to think about school for over two months. that's the way it's always been, and, indeed, that's the way it always should be. schools should continue using the traditional calendar and resist switching to a year-round schedule. there are numerous downsides to year-round schooling. it has no positive effects on education, it's more expensive for schools and communities, and it disrupts summer vacation, a time when kids can spend lots of time with their families.
which audience is the essay most likely written for?
a : parents and administrators who oppose year-round schools
b : teachers looking forward to the summer break
c : elementary school-aged children
d : readers who question whether year-round schools are beneficial

Highlight all instances of parallel structure. there is no longer any room for hope. if we wish to be free—if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending—if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained—we must fight!
