1. when you read the first part of the story (the first half of the first page), what impression did you get of the sort of story this would be?
initially, i thought that this story would be an anti-climax. one of those stories that are flat, boring and have no climax. you get that sort of impression because the first part of the story doesn’t strike any particular interest within the reader. the story introduced a typical sounding housewife with the ‘expected female duties’ and her weary husband in a slow-paced conversation. it only gets interesting when mr. maloney starts showing signs of hostility and a guilty conscience.
how can i further add to my answer to create more detail?
