The road basically describes your life and how it goes. The poet says that the path that we don't choose in our life is the road we don't take. He describes his feelings about that choice that he had left in the past. The path which we have chosen, decides our future, our destination. And so we choose the way our life turns out.

i would say c, admiration because the narrator related to the main character and she, too, once felt ashamed about her culture and wished to be an american girl to impress a boy. she felt admiration because her mom prepared her favorite foods when her and robert's (the guy she liked) family all came together and had a family reunion.
