Frankenstein feels wretched and bereft about his decision to have gone against the monster’s wishes. Created by Victor, the creature faced a lot of reactions because of his physical appearance. Due to this, it was rejected by its own maker, was excluded from the society and was always misjudged. Terrified and repulsed by its looks so they shun it. The creature, we see through the story experiences the emotions of humans. He too wants to be regarded and not left isolated but people are too scared to even come near it and treats it badly every time. This turns it to a monster. Just like Frankenstein, he too wanted a female mate and his maker decided to create one. But during the process, he feels fearful about the future of the creatures and the society so he tears the female mate apart in front of the creature. The creature in return kills Frankenstein’s fiancée and his father too dies of grief. So losing all the people he loved, Frankenstein became wretched and bereft just the way the creature wanted him to be .
