In this side of paradise, how does the narrative style change in book two, chapter 1?

Rosalind Connage, Alec's sister, is coming out (an occasion marking a girl's entry into debutante society) at the Connage house in New York, and Amory is present. because of all the immigration, america became one big melting pot. the diversity of cultures from all over the world made america somewhat divided as well. people that immigrated stayed with their kind, and their traditions, while native born americans stayed with their kind and their traditions. normally, people born in american scorned the immigrants as well. the new religions also divided america. in summary, it took away from the american culture and identified america as the "melting pot."

in my opinion, anyone should be allowed to marry as long as it's not going against any laws. though i kind of contradict myself because i know that in some states and countries, gay marriage isn't legal yet- hopefully you get my point.
