(giving it to mrs. van daan) it's beautiful, isn't it? what theme is best expressed in this excerpt? miep shows great generosity in bringing them cake. bravery and kindness can come at great personal cost. you can only count on friends during difficult times. kindness is best shown through gifts and gestures.
