One of the challenges for natural language processing (nlp) systems is to recognize when a word is a noun or a verb based on its context of the sentence. for example "i went for a run" vs. "let's run to the store". in one case, "run" is a noun, and in the other, "run" is a verb. the nlp task that tackles this problem is called tagging.
