Her best friend was Jewish and was one of the people who had to flee to Sweden to find some safety there and wait for the end of the war, like the rest of Ellen`s family. The end of the war brought her clearer perspective of what was going on and now she was waiting for Ellen to come back wearing the Star of David pendant.
