Below are 3 options for what will be the final project for this course. The final project will be due during Unit 8. For this unit, you will be asked to choose which project you will be completing, and write a 1/2 page project proposal.

1. Choose one of the historical figures, places, or events mentioned in the novel and create a PowerPoint presentation on the topic. Select from the Girondists, Robespierre’s reign, the cause & effects of Waterloo, the Roman Festival of Corpus Cristi, the catacombs, Mithridates, the treasure Caesar Borgia or the reign of Louis XII of France .

2. Choose one character from the novel and pretend you are that character and have kept a diary that chronicles your life since the Count of Monte Cristo arrived in Paris . Fill in the diary entries with facts from the text as well as add interesting tidbits of information or gossip about the other characters and Parisian society. Fashion a diary to fit the era of the novel.

3. Write an epilogue to The Count of Monte Cristo. Set the information ten or twenty years after the Count sails away at the end. This should pick up logically from where Dumas leaves off.

Your proposal should include which project your chose, why you chose it, and your plan for how you will execute it.
