Select one of the early Renaissance paintings specified below and compare and contrast its depiction of human emotion in response to suffering with that in the text of Boccaccio's "Tenth Day: Tenth Story" (click to review Part I and Part II of the literature). Your response should assert a specific argument about the portrayal of human emotion in response to suffering in each work. You must reference specific details in the literature as well as the painting to support your argument.

"valley of salt tears" and "dark, deep and foggy" are two images used to establish a mood of uncertainty and regret. this imagery is made up of sensory appeals to brings up   theological concerns of sin and retribution.

they conjure up the human   uncertainty about the divine and its relationship to the world.

sometimes we look at a photo and miss on important information because we don't know all the facts or don't have the complete story behind it. captions give viewers important and relevant information about the photo. most of the time we will look at the photo for a second time after reading the caption under the photo and then find something different or new about it. this visual trip is also known as a loop.

captions differ from descriptions because they're meant to be read by someone else while descriptions contain basic information that will anyone who is working with them.
