Nora: Good gracious, can't you understand? There was no old gentleman at all; it was only something that I used to sit here and imagine, when I couldn't think of any way of procuring money. But it's all the same now; the tiresome old person can stay where he is, as far as I am concerned; I don't care about him or his will either, for I am free from care now. [Jumps up.] My goodness, it's delightful to think of, Christine! Free from care! To be able to be free from care, quite free from care; to be able to play and romp with the children; to be able to keep the house beautifully and have everything just as Torvald likes it! And, think of it, soon the spring will come and the big blue sky! Perhaps we shall be able to take a little trip—perhaps I shall see the sea again! Oh, it's a wonderful thing to be alive and be happy. [A bell is heard in the hall.]

"the monkey's paw" is a rare story in that the theme is actually stated in the story. sgt. maj. morris tells the whites that the old fakir who put the spell on the paw said, "fate rules people's lives and those who interfere with fate do so to their sorrow." the message is a warning, but mr. white doesn't believe it. even though sgt. maj. morris makes it clear that he tried wishing with unfortunate results and he tries to throw the paw on the fire,   mr. white makes a wish for 200 pounds only to find that he receives the money when herbert dies in a factory accident. according to the fakir, then, because mr. white had wished for something he should not have had, his son lost his life.

the second wish that mrs. white encourages him to make is for herbert's return--one week after his death. when the strange knocking begins at the door during the windy night, mr. white panicks, believing that the previously dead but still mangled herbert could have walked home from the cemetary and is now at the door. because he fears what his wife will find if she opens the door, mr. white makes his third wish--for the noise to stop.

therefore, he uses his three wishes and to his sorrow, loses his son and disappoints his wife, who fervently believed that their son was at the door. she wanted him back, regardless of his condition.

circle of life

today people might say life is like a movie. good or evil might be evil. babies come to the world connect with their inner self, their need, the body language of the people around them that's the ways the lear to live. but as years go through feelings, sensations, needs are left behind and now is the time of technology, to each other is old-fashioned, looking into somebodies eyes, get a real connection, writing down memories a dairy.

we need to back to real connections, caring about people around you and spending quality time with them. we need to find back the way to connect with ourselfs, let out our emotions, sensations, our real tastes without caring about what other might think/say about,but especially without judging others way of living, feeling and loving.  

as we grow we lose our ties with our real selves, and we get too much involved with media, work, politics. we become so much troubled that our energy vanishes away and we only have the disposition to sit in front of the tv on turn off ourselves.   that's unbearable, we need to find out the way not to lose ourselves on the road to adulthood. but especially we have to find a way to keep children on the track. it would be easier for them when they grow ´s a lot of people on that track you just need to keep your eyes wide open and you´ll see it.
