Instructions:
Choose one of the following options:
1. Write a paper (1-2 pages) in which you discuss how some of the things in the play are true of your own town or of
your family and friends.
2. Write a scene of a play of your own dealing with one or more of the universal ideas found in Our Town and present it
to the class
Note: As you choose appropriate gestures, movements and vocalization, including dialect, pronunciation and
enunciation to use in your oral presentation, use research and analysis to justify the use of these strategies.
3. Borrow a video of the play Our Town from the library and write a paper (1-2 pages) that analyzes how the audio and
video techniques conveyed Wilder's theme. Answer the following questions in your essay: How did the media
enhance the relationship between character and theme? Did any of the media techniques minimize the writer's
intent?
