According to CDC (Disease Control and Prevention Center), influenza (flu) is an infectious respiratory disease caused by influenza virus infecting the nose, throat, sometimes the lungs. Influenza A and B viruses are the two main types of human infections. Influenza virus is active throughout the year, but in the US, the influenza season starts from around October and lasts until April with peaks peak in December and February. With this in mind, somewhere in September and October, we need to start thinking about ways to protect our children from the flu. This is particularly true for parents of young children who are at high risk of developing influenza complications. With appropriate precautions and cautious treatment, the disease may be mild.

There are many different styles to advertise this very touchy subject. The most effective promotes of the influenza vaccine are "The Flu ends with u", "Shots aren't just for kids", and "Spread Popcorn, Not the Flu", due to their different advertising techniques.

To start, the advertisment, "The Flu ends with U", uses the flattery technique. This is a technique that many often use by complimenting the consumer. This entices them to want to participate in the vaccination. This is effective because in this particular ad it makes the person feel like they can be apart of the change to prevent the flu. The audience of this promotion is a general audience, which means it can apply to anyone that views it. Flattery is a common technique used to make the audience feel apart of the ad.

The next ad that i found was effective is the "Shots aren't just for kids". This ad is using univeral appeal as the technique to advertise. This type of advertising technique touches base with the consumers emotions and makes a personal connection through human relationship. This type of technique, to me at least, is the most effective. The audience is adults because it states that " Shots aren't just for kids", meaning adults are able to get these shots as well. 

The last ad im presenting is the "Spread Popcorn, Not the Flu" ad, which uses the association technique. This technique associates a product with a positive image. In this case, its popcorn. This principle aims to make consumers conect the product being advertised to a desirable set of vaules or traits. The popcorn gives off a positive vibe, even though the subject is something much more serious. This technique might not be effective to some, but it also can be extremely effective.  This again is to a general audience. 

The adverting camoaign effectively promotes the influenza vaccine by the different types of techniques being used to catch the consumers eyes. These techniques are flattery, univeral appeal, and association to persuade people into getting the influenza (Flu) vaccine.
